Nouveau Voyage!

It has almost been a year since I went to Greece with the parents. Finally, another trip is in the works. However, I will be traveling with a different face — that of the lovely Nicole. Yes, the same Nicole that is part of everyone’s favorite celebrity couple — Bricole. We are bound for Europe, specifically Paris, Bruges, and Amsterdam. I will be able to chalk off two new countries that I have never been to before. And while I have been to Paris in the past, I have never had a digital camera while I was there, so that changes things a bit. I was using a point-and-shoot Pentax that shot on APS film back then. This was obsolete technology 10 years ago. Now that I’m equipped with a nice digital camera, I can actually take good photos.

After rescheduling our entire trip, we are finally enroute to Europe . . . almost. We have to change planes in San Francisco first, but at least it’s more or less on the way. It sure beats Newark. It is a short flight from LA to SF, but I took the time to entertain Nicole with my fancy flight gadgets and could show her our exact position, airspeed, and estimated time of arrival. Obviously she was thrilled and asked me to give her updates in real-time every few minutes as we embark on our 11 hour flight to Paris.

We now find ourselves in the United club trying to make a meal of cheese and crackers. We did not arrive in the terminal that has the Cinnabon, so our options were limited. On the other hand, my stomach is stable. Our next flight boards in about an hour and a half. We are sitting near the back of the plane, so we will be stuck with whatever meal option nobody else wanted. Who else ordered the salmon loaf with beets?
